Reading the evidence
Understanding analytics
Change
A change compares the latest observation to the prior comparable observation. A positive value means the source value increased; it does not by itself predict your next invoice.
Confidence
Confidence is a bounded quality signal, not probability. Missing periods, stale data, weak source reliability, or uncertain matching reduce it.
Impact and priority
Impact uses imported purchasing spend only when normalized item names match. Without matching spend, Novus reports absolute source movement. Priority combines movement severity, spend importance, and confidence to rank review work; it is not an automated purchasing decision.
Source evidence
Analytics rows link back to the provider source and show economic level, units, observation date, calculation summary, and confidence. If two comparable observations do not exist, the product shows an empty state instead of a metric.
